The Basilica of Our girl of Solitude could be a Roman Catholic Basilica settled in Delaware Ciudad Juarez|city|metropolis|urban center} de Juarez, Oaxaca, Mexico. It had been designed between 1682 and 1690, and could be a sanctuary dedicated to Our girl of Sorrows, defender of Oaxaca. The design vogue is Baroque, and was advisedly designed with low spires and towers, on higher resist earthquakes. The Basilica DE la metropolis is a component of the Historic Center of Oaxaca town, that was declared World Heritage web site by UN agency in 1987.
The construction of the Basilica began in 1682 and in 1690 was consecrated by Bishop Sariñana y Cuenca. It had been designed by Father Fernando Méndez and therefore the current facade was designed between 1717 and 1718, with the help of Bishop Angel Maldonado.
