Ukkusissat could be a settlement within the Qaasuitsup municipality, in northwestern Greenland. The population of the settlement was a hundred and seventy in 2010. Fishing is that the main occupation in Ukkusissat, with the fish process plant situated at the harbour; several inhabitants used at Royal Greenland.
Reinvigoration of mining activities within the near Maamorilik site−located northeast of the settlement on the northern facet of Perlerfiup Kangerlua−will give associate degree economic boost to the native economy. Tourism is underdeveloped, though throughout summer the settlement is visited by cruise ships, like Norway’s Hurtigruten. The harbour in Ukkusissat cannot handle ships giant ships owing to shallow coastal waters. Air Greenland serves the village as a part of government contract, with flights between Ukkusissat airport and Uummannaq airport. Arrival for the whirlybird flights is run at Pilersuisoq.
