The Ohio Historical Society operates dozens of state historic sites across Ohio. Its headquarters is that the 250,000-square-foot (23,000 m²) Ohio History Center in Columbus, Ohio, a Brutalist concrete structure. In depth exhibits cowl Ohio’s history from the period to the current. The middle includes state archives and library areas, a present search, and body and academic facilities. The 1989 Smithsonian Guide to Historic America delineated the middle as “probably the best repository in America dedicated to pre-European history.”
Ohio Village, a reconstructed Civil War-era city, could be a living repository on the grounds of the Ohio Historical Center. In 2002, budget cuts forced the Ohio Village to shut aside from special events, faculty and tour teams. Since 2012, it’s receptive guests from Memorial Day to legal holiday and for special events like the Country Living truthful, All Hallows Eve, and Dickens of a Christmas. The village homes the notable Ohio Village Muffins, a vintage club. Since 1981, the Muffins have promoted the preservation of the sport because it was compete in 1860. Competitions ar compete per annum.
