Sarchí is that the capital town of the canton of Valverde Vega conjointly called Sarchí within the province of Alajuela in Republic of Costa Rica. The district of Sarchí covers a region of fifteen.11 km² (1), together with the central space of town. It’s a population of half-dozen,912 (2). Town lies at Associate in Nursing elevation of a thousand meters on top of water level (1) on the slopes of the Cordillera Central (Central Mountain Range) at the japanese fringe of the Central natural depression. It’s twenty seven kilometers northwest of the capital town of Alajuela, and forty six kilometers from the metropolis town of San Jose.
Sarchí is Costa Rica’s most illustrious crafts center. The city offers quite two hundred stores and tiny family-operated carpentry factories manufacturing picket bowls and different ware, fold-up rocking chairs of wood and animal skin, and a large form of kitschy things. The foremost standard things on sale ar “carretas”, in an elaborate way painted oxcarts that historically carried low from the highlands right down to the port on the Pacific Coast.
