In October, 1871, Wallingford’s depot was completed for the the big apple, urban center and Hartford Railroad. Noted for its mansard, decorative brackets and stone quoins the interlocking exterior corners the station is among the few remaining of its kind that were designed throughout President Grant’s administration at the peak of railway enlargement. The city undertook Associate in Nursing overhaul to the roof and exterior with the assistance of state and federal grants within the early Nineteen Nineties. The station is served by the Springfield Route of Amtrak. Wallingford could be a city in urban center County, Connecticut, us. The population was forty three,026 at the 2000 census.
