The A.C. Gilbert’s Discovery Village is AN interactive children’s deposit placed in Salem, Oregon, us. This active deposit was named in honor of yankee artificer Aelfred Carlton Gilbert and displays many of his inventions, most notably the Erector Set. In fact, the Village is home to the World’s largest Erector Set tower at fifty two feet. Originally home to the National Toy Hall of Fame, the deposit sold-out the Hall of Fame to the robust – National deposit of Play in 2002. Besides its interactive exhibits, the invention Village additionally provides summer camps, celebration packages, and stretch programs.
The deposit is housed in many historic Victorian buildings, together with the Saint Andrew T. Gilbert House, that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP), and a 1998 reproduction of the Wilson-Durbin House, that was additionally NRHP-listed till it had been destroyed by hearth in 1990.
