Blandwood Mansion, originally designed as a four space Federal vogue house in 1795, is that the remodeled home of two-term North geographic region governor John Motley Morehead (1841-1844) in downtown city, North geographic region. It’s believed to be the oldest existing example of the Italian Villa type of design within the u. S.. In making the planning at Blandwood, Davis created a preferred model for yank house styles within the Italianate style: a central tower jutting from the most facade.
