Zamia Masjid, main building has 2,500 black-bordered arches on the floor. Each space is for one occupant. The dome is spectacular but it’s the mihrab that takes one’s breath away. When the heavy curtain in front is moved, one can see the rich gilding on a coloured background. There are tombs and minarets, chains, niches with books and vases, interspersed with bands and medallions bearing decorative inscriptions.

Jamia Masjid, constructed by Ali Adil Shah I (1557-80) to commemorate his victory over the Vijayanagara Kingdom. But he did not complete it. Later, Aurangzeb added some features to it.
