The Aconcagua Provincial Park offers peaks over 5000m in a stunningly rising to the open sky. This feature attracts attention of numerous mountaineers and hikers from all around the globe. The area is usually windy and sometimes supports violent gusts exceeding 200km / PM. The water resources in the park result from numerous glaciers covering an area of ​​approximately 32km 2 among which are the Ventisqueros Güssfeldt, Horcones Lower and Upper, the cows and Polish Glacier. The melting of these ice giants flow into the Upper and Lower Horcones Rivers, the Quebrada de Horcones, and the Vacas River Gorge by the same name.
To a lesser extent, the area also receives input from water as primarily snowfalls reach an annual average between 400-600mm. The region of Aconcagua is part of the upper basin of the Mendoza River, which supplies water for irrigation and human consumption to a population of over 1,000,000 inhabitants.
