Abbotsmith ice mass may be a well-defined ice mass, three miles (5 km) long, down from the ice-covered west slopes of huge mountain to the side of detected Island within the southern ocean. The ice mass lies between Walsh and Henderson Bluffs. Surveyed in 1948 by the ANARE (Australian National Antarctic analysis Expeditions) WHO named it for John Abbotsmith, engineer with the party. To the south of Abbotsmith ice mass is song ice mass, whereas Allison ice mass is straight away to the north.
