The Cherŭng Royal place could be a 15th-century sepulture placed in Chi-dong, Kaepung-gun close to Kaesong, North Korea. The location contains the body of Queen Sinui, 1st spouse of Joseon phratry founder Yi Songgye. Construction on the tombs began when her death in 1392; as she died before her husband overthrew the Goryeo phratry to become king, she was buried at the Goryeo-era capital of Kaesong. When Yi took the throne, restyling himself as King Taejo, she was posthumously awarded the title of “queen”. The grave mound is ringed with a carved granite base, whereas the “spirit road” resulting in the place is lined with statues of military officers and Confucian officers.
Despite being the place of a Joseon monarch, the location was excluded from the globe Heritage website “Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty” because it is found in North Korea. It’s one in all solely 2 royal tombs from that phratry within the country; the opposite, Hurung, belongs to King Jongjong, WHO briefly affected the capital back to Kaesong before abdicating.
