Takab could be a town in and also the capital of Takab County, West Azerbajdzhan Republic Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was forty three,702, in 10,078 families. Its ancient name was Shiz. The most spoken languages ar Kurdish and ethnic group. The far-famed historical advanced Takht-e-Soleiman is settled to the North-East of the town. Takht-e-Soleiman was one amongst Takab’s oldest Zoroastrian hearth temples throughout the Sassanid kinsfolk and had the name Azargoshnasb (or Azar Goshnasb or Azargashasb).
The primary occupation of residents is agriculture and furnishings. Alternative ancient places in Takab ar Karaftoo Cave and Zendan Mountain.
