Oppdal is a village and municipality in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. It is part of the Dovre region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Oppdal. Other villages in the municipality include Lønset, Vognillan, Fagerhaug, and Holan. The Oppdal Airport, Fagerhaug is located in the northeastern part of the municipality.
The village of Oppdal is located at the intersection of the European route E6 and Norwegian National Road 70 in the Drivdalen valley. The Oppdal Station on the Dovrebanen railway also is in the village. Oppdal Church is located just west of the village. The 3.8-square-kilometre (1.5 sq mi) village has a population (2009) of 3,924. The population density of the village is 1,033 inhabitants per square kilometre (2,680 /sq mi).
