The Gran Biblioteca Publica de Lima is a public library serving over 300000 residents and affiliated to the library system which serves the Biblioteca Nacional del Perú. Housed within a magnificent building built in the 1940s and later expanded in 1974, this Great Public Library of Lima is featuring several open shelve sections showcasing study materials on media, art & literature, history, geography, pure sciences, social sciences, reference books, magazines, braille and children books. This Lima’s Public Library is still serving under the control of old National Library (BNP). However, located along the main thoroughfare of downtown Lima, there is no parking facility available here for library patrons.
