Binnenrotte is a street in the center of Rotterdam between Pompenburg and Blaak. Binnenrotte was originally part of the river Rotte within the buildings of Rotterdam. In 1871, the Binnenrotte muted for the construction of the railway viaduct in the Rotterdam- Dordrecht. The viaduct was demolished after the construction of the tunnel William in 1993. Since that time the Binnenrotte a large open space Binnenrotte Square which is on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and during part of the year on Sunday, used by the Rotterdam Centre Market, a general goods market with over 450 stalls. Currently work in progress to the next Binnenrotte, south of the Hoogstraat do a market hall rise of 70 x 110 meter size.
