Vishwanath Temple is situated in Uttarkashi. The temple of Lord Vishwanath is most important among the other temples in Uttarkashi. Shiva, the main deity of this temple, is worshipped all day here. Visitors are greeted by sound of bells, and the chanting of mantras by pundits at the puja every evening. The Shakti Temple, dedicated to the Goddess of strength is present within the courtyard and in the front of Vishwanath Temple.The massive brass trident projecting from Vishwanath Temple bears an inscription describing how the Vishwanath Temple was built.
