Barendrecht is a town in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality had a population of 43,104 in 2007, and covers an area of 21.72 km² (8.39 mile²) of which 1.45 km² (0.56 mile²) is water.The municipality of Barendrecht also includes the following communities: BarendrechtCarnisselande, Smitshoek.There is a railway station in Barendrecht – Barendrecht railway station. Journey time to Rotterdam Centraal is 14 – 23 minutes.
