Curuguaty is a city in the Canindeyú Department of Paraguay, that was the 4th capital of Paraguay during the War against the Triple Alliance.Canindeyú Department has richness in flora and is surrounded by the Mbaracayú Mountains, which has an average altitude of 400 meters above ocean level. It is possible, in this place, to appreciate the biological diversity of the Atlantic Forest. There are also beautiful forests and swamps, besides the Curuguaty River, that form the rural landscape.The Solar de Artigas, the house where lived Gerasio Artigas during the government of José Gaspar Rodríguez de Francia, with a park in his honor.
