Sursagar was also known as ‘Tajuk-a-Sagar’ (as mentioned in book ‘jal and samaj’ by Brij Ratan Joshi). According to an old inscription the water of Sursagar was used for day today activities, drinking, generating electricity etc. The lake is 22,800 Sqm (approx.) in area of a rectangular in shape with approximately 184m in length and 120m in breath and approximately 8 m in depth. The lake collected fresh rain water during rains and was place of attraction during the earlier days.

Taxi : Bikaner is well connected by a road network and national highways. The tourist can reach to Bikaner by taxi. The normal Indian taxi charges of Rupees 8 to 20 will be charged for each km.

BUS : Plenty of bus services are available from Bikaner to Delhi, Jodhpur, Agra, Ajmer, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Udaipur and Kota. State owned bus tariff is about Rs 1.5 per km and luxury coaches charges Rs 3 per km.
