Coppet is a municipality in the district of Nyon in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. Coppet is first mentioned in 1294 as Copetum. In 1347 it was mentioned as Copet. Coppet has an area, as of 2009, of 1.9 square kilometers (0.73 sq mi). Of this area, 0.63 km2 (0.24 sq mi) or 33.7% is used for agricultural purposes, while 0.06 km2 (0.023 sq mi) or 3.2% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 1.17 km2 (0.45 sq mi) or 62.6% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.01 km2 (2.5 acres) or 0.5% is either rivers or lakes.
