The museum is housed within the premises of the old convent of San Francisco del Monte. It has a display of gold items (chalices, communion plates, candlesticks, pyxes, processional crosses and other religious objects), carved wooden images (the mediaeval collection of 30 pieces dating from the 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th centuries, and 24 figures dating from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries); liturgical vestments, sacred ornaments and a large collection of books (both sacred and profane volumes) with editions dating from the year 1522.
