Detail InformationEdit

The church was built during the second half of the 12th century and the time of a surge in the traffic on the road to Santiago. Most of the hypotheses as to the origin of the church incline towards its role as a cemetery for pilgrims who died on the Way of Saint James. The building is in the Romanesque style, and has an octagonal floor plan.
It is surrounded by a cloister, and has a pentagonal apse which is semicircular on the interior. The roof is made of stone slabs. Features of interest on the exterior are the pentagonal apse and the two access doors, both decorated with animal and plant reliefs.
