San Miguel el Alto is a town and municipality, in Jalisco in central-western Mexico. The municipality covers an area of 580 km². As of 2005, the municipality had a total population of 40,000. The municipality includes the town of San José de los Reynoso. The town was the setting and filming location for the 1957 film, Los chiflados del rock and roll, starring Luis Aguilar.
