Orthodox Church of Alexander Newski in Lodz is located in the centre of the city, next to Lodz Fabryczna Railway Station.
It was built in 1884 according to the project of Hilary Majewski who gave it a neo – Byzantine look clearly visible in the domes and decoration details. Richly decorated interior has a beautiful iconostas, old icons and metal procession banners.
If you happen to come in the evening for a mass, you will hear wonderful singing of the choir and Old Slavonic words of prayers, which take your thoughts to distant Eastern regions of Europe.
