Detail InformationEdit

The Forest Education Centre at the headquarters of the Grodziec Forest District serves a particular role in the educational policy of the Forest District. The Centre offers the following facilities: Educational Room – it houses an interesting exhibition of fossils and specimens of animals and plants (including rare and protected species). “Chata Grodziecka”, Barbeque Site – this place is designated for open air talks, but it also serves as a venue for enjoying meals and leisure. Mock-up of a lignite open cast mine and a power station – a model made by pupils from the local school, presents one of the most characteristic industries of the area, i.e. the mining and power industry. „Mini-zoo” – is an enclosure/paddock for wild and domestic animals, where visitors can observe their behaviour. At the Forest Education Centre there is also an exhibition of models and educational boards related to nature and forest themes. They can be seen along the “Tree-crown path”. It is an attractive view point, where it is possible to observe the animals in the “mini zoo” and conduct educational talks, e.g. devoted to the stratified forest structure.
