Guhagar Beach is well known for its long and white sandy beaches. The sea is shallow here and the water current is not so strong here making it ideal for swimming and other water sports. It is a pleasure to watch the vast sea, the setting sun and the local fishermen community with their small boats and fishing nets. The landscape around is capped by greenery and this region is home to a variety of birds. Guhagar beach is the perfect place for a secluded and peaceful holiday. It welcomes honeymoon couples and families alike. Apart from the beach, Vyadeshwar temple, Ufarata Ganpati, Velaneshwar, Hedvi, Budhal, Enron project and Gopalgad are some other places in Guhagar worth seeing. There are many home stays and mid range hotels which offer comfort and traditional homely food along the beach road. There are plenty of state buses frequently plying from other major towns of Maharashtra to Guhagar. One can also come by train to Chiplun station and hire taxis or rickshaws from there to the beachside.

BUS : Regular bus services are available from many cities in Maharastra to Ratnagiri. State owned and private buses ply from Ratnagiri to many cities in and around. Evening trips of tourist luxury buses are available from Mumbai to Ratnagiri. The bus charge is about Rs 1,500.

Train : Ratnagiri station is one of the most important stations on the Konkan Railway. The nearest railway junctions are Pune and Kolhapur on the central railway. The Ratnagiri railway station is situated at a distance of 6 km from Ratnagiri city on NH-204. Nearly every train running on Konkan Railway stops at Ratnagiri Station. Travelers who are arriving by train can hire taxis or auto rickshaws from the railway station to the city.

Air : Ratnagiri airport is well connected from all major cities and towns. There are regular flights from Pune, Mumbai and all major cities as well. Tourists from here will get various flights to reach the place comfortably. The airport is located at a distance of 12km far from the main city.
