Dambai is a town in the northern part of the Volta Region of Ghana. It is the capital of the Krachi East District. It is located on the eastern coast of the Volta Lake. It is called ‘Dam Nafiba’ in the language of the indegenes Nchumuru, meaning be spiritually strong before you come because in the past the place was full of wild animals such as lions, tigers, elephants that first settlers had to contend with. The town has a fibrant market that falls on Monday and Tuesday to which market people across Ghana and West Africa come to. the occupation of the people is farming and fishing on the Rive oti with few people being employed by offices of the district assembly and teaching.
