Chaprala Wildlife Sanctuary spread over an area of approximately 154 square kilometers, the Chaprala wildlife sanctuary is a majestic place to visit for the nature lovers. Hidden in the majestic Western Ghats, the Chaprala Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the greatest of all wildlife sanctuaries. It is one of the greatest places where the flora and fauna reach their best of form. Its rich collection of vegetation and wild life is a real asset for any wildlife sanctuary. The major flora found in the sanctuary includes Bamboo, Khair, Casia, Auriculata, Bel, Hiwar, Palas, Salaia, Teak, Tendu, Zizphus Helicteres, Dhawda, Sal, Babul, Terminenalia species, Bija, etc. The commonly found shrubs include varieties of Isora, Solanium Giganteum, Lantna etc. The Sanctuary is also home to nearly 131 species of wild animals like tiger, leopard, jungle cat, sloth bear and wild dog. Many of the species are included under the endangered species list like two species of bird, two species of reptiles, Indian python, Wild boar, spotted deer, sambar, barking deer, blue bull, jungle cat, jackal, peacock, jungle fowl and flying squirrel are also found in this sanctuary. The best time to visit Chaprala Wildlife Sanctuary is from the month of February to the month of May. The climate during this period remains predictable and comfortable.

Chaprala sanctuary consists of forests mainly consist of teak and bamboo interspersed with grassy meadows. The area has a wide and rich range of flora and fauna. The Sanctuary is managed by the Indian Govt. Department of Conservation of Forests & Environment.

Taxi : Private Taxies are available here. Mansinghdeo wildlife sanctuary is 50 km from Nagpur via Kanhan, Mansar and Chorbahuli.

Bus : The town Gadchiroli is situated about 180 Kms from Nagpur and 80 Kms away from Chandrapur of Vidarbha region. The district has well connected road links to other adjoining districts as Chandrapur, Bhandara & Nagpur. It takes around two hours journey from Chandrapur and 4 hours journey from Nagpur by State Transport Bus to reach Gadchiroli. Also, private luxury buses are run from Nagpur and Chandrapur for Gadchiroli.

Train : The nearest railway station is at Chandrapur at a distance of 80 km. Gadchiroli has 18.5 km of narrow gauge railway lines passing through the northwestern part of the district.

Air : The nearest airport is at Nagpur 180 km.
