The 63rd Street Tunnel presently carries the IND 63rd Street Line of the big apple town Subway below the strait between the boroughs of Manhattan and Queens. It’s the latest of the strait tunnels, and therefore the newest stream crossing within the big apple metropolitan space. Construction of the 63rd Street Tunnel began on Gregorian calendar month twenty four, 1969 and therefore the tunnel was holed through below Roosevelt Island on Oct ten, 1972 but, completion of the tunnel was delayed by big apple City’s business crisis of the Seventies.
