Itinerary
DAY 1 Arrive at Kochi
Arrive at Cochin and check into the hotel. Afternoon visit Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis church and Chinese fishing nets. If time permits, take a two hour sunset Cruise (optional and at extra charge). Enjoy the spectacular view of the Cochin Harbor in the backdrop of the setting sun. Cruise through the backwaters till where the Kochi lagoon opens out in the Arabian Sea. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 2 Kochi to Alleppey (1 hr 30 min, 70 km)
After breakfast, drive to Alleppey. Arrive and check into your houseboat/hotel by noon for a thrilling experience on the backwaters of Kerala. On this leisurely cruise you will enjoy beautiful villages, paddy fields, small churches, temples and witness the day-to-day life of the villagers. Your crew will cook you delicious meals on board the boat. Overnight on the Houseboat.
DAY 3 Alleppey to Kumarakom (1 hr, 40 km)
After breakfast drive to Kumarakom. Check in at the Hotel. Afternoon take a sightseeing tour of Kumarakom. Visit the Bay Island Driftwood Museum, the only one of its kind in the country, which houses a unique collection of driftwood sculptures. From here drive to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Located on the banks of the Vembanad lake, this Sanctuary is a favorite of migratory birds like the siberian stork, egret, darter, heron and teal. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 4 Kumarakom to Kovalam (4 hr, 175 km)
After breakfast, drive to Kovalam. Check in at the beach resort, the day is for exploring the coastal stretch of Kerala. You can enjoy the sand, the cuisine and the massages. Evening at leisure. Overnight at Kovalam.
DAY 5 Daytrip to Kanyakumari/Trivandrum
After breakfast, take a daytrip to Kanyakumari at extra cost and go for sightseeing of Vivekanada rock, Museum & Beach; or, drive to Trivandrum and visit Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple and Kanaka Kunnu Palace. Return to Kovalam in the evening. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 6 Depart from Kovalam
After breakfast, check out of the hotel. Depart from Kovalam to onward destination.
