240 Centre Street, once the the big apple town police office building, between Broome and Grand Streets within the Nolita neighborhood of Manhattan, the big apple town, was in-built 1905-1909, and was designed by the firm of Hoppin & Koen. It housed the headquarters of the the big apple town local department from 1909 to 1973, and was born-again into luxury condominiums in 1988 by the firm of Ehrenkranz cluster & Eckstut. It’s currently called the Police Building residences.The building at 240 Centre Street replaced associate older building near on Mulberry Street, wherever President of the United States had served as the big apple town commissioner. Following the consolidation of the cities of latest dynasty (Manhattan) and borough, the counties of Queens and Richmond (Staten Island), and a neighborhood of Westchester County that was appended to The Bronx, into town of “Greater New York” in 1898, the local department underwent growth and required a brand new headquarters building. The Police Building was selected a brand new dynasty town landmark in 1978, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
